Job Description

Position eligible for potential $10,000 sign-on bonus (depending on experience)

The Transmission Service Technician performs service primarily on automatic, standard, and continuously variable transmissions and drive-trains for Ford vehicles. Downtown Ford is seeking driven individuals who are motivated to be successful. Here at the Downtown Ford Sales, we offer our technicians top flat rate pay and competitive hourly wages along with fantastic benefit packages

Candidates must have a minimum of two years previous transmission or tech experience at a dealership or large independent shop. ASE certifications are preferred, but not required. Must have ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles both automatic and manual transmissions.

An unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, a strong technical performance record, and strong physical dexterity and stamina to get the job done are required. He or she must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world class customer service

  • Ensures that all completed repairs have gone through quality control and/or a road test
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Checks all fluids and maintenance-related parts and tops-off or replaces fluids or filters/parts as required
  • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
  • Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing
  • Performs routine and high level repairs and service inspections without guidance
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Disassembling and reassembling transmission components to repair vehicles
Job Requirements:
